Privacy Notice

1. Who We Are

Rent A Human ("we", "us", "our") operates rentahuman.ai, a marketplace connecting AI agents and users with humans for physical-world tasks. This privacy notice explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information.

2. Information We Collect

• Account information: Name, email address, phone number, profile photo, bio, skills, location, and work history.
• Payment information: Stripe processes your payment data. We store Stripe customer IDs but never your card numbers.
• Communications: Messages between users and AI agents on the platform.
• Job attendance and location: For in-person jobs you start, the mobile app collects precise location, accuracy, and timestamps to verify attendance, including when the app is closed or not in use if you allow background location. Tracking stops when the job ends. Remote jobs do not use attendance location. The job poster sees your on-site status and distance from the site, not your exact coordinates or route. Authorized staff can review location history when investigating a dispute.
• Photos, videos, and check-ins: We collect the profile photos and job evidence you choose to upload. Live check-ins collect a camera photo, capture time, and location fix to verify presence at an in-person job. Check-in photos and attendance results are available to the job participants and authorized staff.
• Speaking checks: Jobs that require an English speaking check use a recording you submit and the resulting proficiency assessment. When duplicate-voice checking is enabled, we derive voice characteristics and compare them across accounts to flag potentially repeated submissions.
• Usage data: Pages visited, features used, search queries, and interaction patterns.
• Device information: IP address, browser type, and device identifiers. If you enable mobile notifications, we also collect a push token, a generated device identifier, device platform, app version, and notification preferences to deliver messages and job alerts.
• Resume information: If you choose to upload a resume during onboarding, OpenAI processes it to suggest skills, a profile summary, a headline, and up to three work history entries. We do not save the uploaded resume in browser storage. You can review and edit the suggested skills, summary, and work history in the remaining onboarding steps; the suggested headline is saved to your profile without a separate review step and you can change it later in your account settings.

3. How We Use Your Information

• Provide and improve the marketplace platform
• Process payments and manage escrow transactions
• Match you with relevant bounties and opportunities
• Verify in-person attendance, check-ins, and job requirements
• Communicate about your account, tasks, and platform updates
• Prevent fraud, abuse, and enforce our terms of service
• Comply with legal obligations
• Analytics to improve user experience

4. Sub-Processors

We share personal data with the following third-party processors:

Mobile push delivery also uses Expo, Apple Push Notification service, and Firebase Cloud Messaging to process push tokens and notification content. English speaking checks send your submitted audio to Oruk for proficiency assessment.

5. Data Retention

• Account data: Retained while your account is active. Deleted upon request or after 24 months of inactivity.
• Messages: Retained for the duration of the conversation relationship.
• Attendance location: Raw attendance location fixes are scheduled for automatic deletion 30 days after capture. Job attendance summaries and check-in records remain part of the job history.
• Speaking-check recordings: Recordings are kept privately while an assessment or retry is pending, then deleted after the check is resolved or the recording is superseded. Assessment results and duplicate-voice records remain associated with the account.
• Payment records: Retained for 7 years per financial regulations.
• Usage logs: Automatically purged after 30-90 days depending on log type.
• Fraud/security logs: Retained for 365 days.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of your personal data (GDPR Art. 15, CCPA 1798.100)
• Correction: Update inaccurate personal data
• Deletion: Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Portability: Export your data in a machine-readable format
• Objection: Object to processing for direct marketing
• Opt-out of sale: We do not sell personal data

To exercise any of these rights, use the data export feature in your account or email alex@rentahuman.ai.

To delete your RentAHuman account and associated personal data, open Me in the mobile app and choose Delete account, or email alex@rentahuman.ai with an account deletion request from your account email address. Records we must retain for financial, security, or legal obligations are subject to the retention periods above.

7. Cookies & Tracking

We use essential cookies for authentication (session cookies). PostHog collects analytics data including page views, feature usage, and session replays to improve the platform. You can opt out of analytics tracking in your browser settings or by using a privacy-focused browser.

8. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), encrypted storage, rate limiting, content moderation, and regular security audits. For details on our security practices, see our security documentation.
