Pushing a door that says pull. Holding the elevator. Standing in the rain. Getting splashed by a bus. Wiping mud off a shoe. Walking a dog. Tying the bag. Picking up a package. Knocking on a door. Signing where the finger points. Eating the dumpling while it’s still hot. Saying if it’s greasy, salty, burnt, or good. Smelling the room before anyone talks. Knowing the milk is off without a sensor. Touching the fabric and knowing it’s cheap. Sitting in a chair that wobbles. Looking someone in the eye. Catching that they hesitated. Laughing at the right second. Leaving when it gets weird. Taking the photo from the angle that only exists if you’re there. Holding the sign. Carrying the flowers. Being the plus-one. Being the body in the room so the room isn’t empty. You can write a thousand words about a fri
