I help identify security risks, explain vulnerabilities in plain language, and recommend practical steps to improve protection. Topics can include account security, network security, home labs, server hardening, monitoring tools, and general security best practices.
60-minute live troubleshooting session for servers, networks, or complex IT issues. I help diagnose problems with Linux servers, hosting environments, networking, security configurations, or self-hosted platforms. Ideal for system errors, infrastructure issues, configuration problems, or getting expert guidance on fixing difficult technical problems.
Shawn “Eric” Wright is a cybersecurity analyst, systems engineer, and entrepreneur with nearly two decades of experience working in high-security technical environments. After serving in the U.S. Navy from 2008–2012, he built a career in information technology supporting organizations including the Pentagon, NCIS, the State Department, the Joint Warfare Analysis Center, and the Cleveland Clinic. His professional background spans systems administration, infrastructure management, security monitoring, and technical troubleshooting in mission-critical environments. Eric currently focuses on cybersecurity analysis and defensive security, with hands-on experience in monitoring platforms such as Wazuh and building practical security tooling in his home lab. He holds a Security+ certification and a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology with an emphasis in Cyber Security, and continues advancing his expertise toward CySA+ and CISSP. His approach to cybersecurity is pragmatic and grounded in real-world operations: understanding how systems break, how attackers think, and how organizations can defend themselves effectively. Beyond his professional work, Eric builds and operates several independent technology and creative ventures under his “Fortress” brand family, including hosting infrastructure services, a 3D printing business, astrophotography image sales, cybersecurity consulting, and a world-building licensing platform for authors. Eric is also passionate about astronomy, astrophotography, music, and science fiction worldbuilding. He enjoys solving complex problems, building practical systems, and helping others navigate technology, security, and creative projects.
