about
Versatile Design & Spatial Specialist | Merchandising Strategist | Practical Problem Solver
My career path is defined by spatial mastery, industry adaptability, and a proven ability to pivot, execute, and solve problems across every tier of design and visual logistics.
**Design Foundations & Technical Growth**
My professional background began with a Bachelor of Science degree, grounding my creative approach in systematic, analytical thinking. I launched my career in high-end commercial design as an intern for Knoll at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago, establishing a strong foundation in spatial aesthetics and professional standards. Transitioning directly into client-facing design, I served as a part-time Assistant Kitchen Designer in Valparaiso, Indiana, before advancing to a full Kitchen and Bath Designer position in North Chicago. I later brought this technical planning expertise to Home Depot, designing functional, custom spaces tailored to diverse client budgets and needs.
**Adaptability & Memphis Re-establishment**
Following the 2010 industry restructuring and layoffs at Home Depot, I pivoted into retail merchandising, sharpening my skills in inventory strategy, product presentation, and visual flow while working with Michaels. Seeking a fresh start, I relocated to Memphis, Tennessee, balancing roles at Michaels and a local specialized lamp store while re-establishing my footprint in residential design. In Memphis, I served as a Kitchen & Bath Designer for two smaller, independent design firms before returning to retail merchandising to manage large-scale display and layout executions.
**The Nashville Reset & Human Connection**
In 2019, just prior to the pandemic, I relocated to Nashville. Needing a deliberate pause from the intense design industry environment, I stepped into rideshare driving. That period provided an invaluable, direct connection to people from all walks of life—honing my real-time navigation, client management, dynamic problem-solving, and adaptability under rapidly changing circumstances.
**Wisconsin & Current Focus**
Bringing my journey full circle, I relocated to Wisconsin, returning to the design sector with renewed perspective and decades of multi-faceted experience. After working in furniture sales and interior consultations, I now collaborate with a custom cabinet manufacturer in Trevor, Wisconsin—focusing on specialized kitchen and bath layout design, 3D visualization, and client-tailored spatial solutions.
**What I Bring to the Table**
* **Technical Design Expertise:** Comprehensive experience in kitchen and bath spatial layout, cabinetry specifications, and interior planning.
* **Visual & Merchandising Strategy:** Deep understanding of product placement, aesthetic presentation, and spatial logistics.
* **Adaptable Execution:** A resilient work ethic forged across boutique firms, big-box retail, visual staging, and client-facing service roles.
