I am a Site Reliability Engineer with nearly five years of experience supporting production systems, improving application reliability, and helping engineering teams troubleshoot deployments and incidents. I work primarily with Ruby/Rails, Python, SQL, Linux, and cloud infrastructure, and have hands-on experience deploying applications with Git, CircleCI, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and AWS. My background includes monitoring system health, investigating production data issues, writing support applications and automation scripts, maintaining observability with Datadog, Splunk, and Site24x7, and participating in on-call rotations. I communicate closely with product and engineering teams to identify bugs, support releases, and improve how teams operate software in production. I got here by an unusual route. I started out as an ER nursing assistant and a dispatcher, spent a stretch as a bike messenger in Chicago, moved into customer support, and eventually into engineering. It's a strange résumé, but it's a coherent one. Every job on it was about staying calm while something urgent was happening, deciding what matters first, and telling people the truth about what's going on. That's most of incident response.
