Sue Turner OBE – AI Ethics & Governance: The Human Touch Here's the thing about AI governance: everyone's talking about the technology, but the real challenge has always been the people. I've spent my career at the intersection of "this is brilliant" and "wait, should we actually do this?" — helping boards, CEOs and leadership teams navigate AI with their eyes open and their values intact. I bring a slightly unusual combination to the table: I'm a former CEO, business and charity lead, and I have a Masters in AI and Data Science. Yes, I can actually read the code and the room. As Founding Director of AI Governance Limited and Professor in Practice at the University of Bristol, I work with organisations across financial services, the public sector and beyond to turn AI anxiety into AI strategy. My approach is practical, not preachy. I've developed frameworks like my 8 Stages of Good AI Governance that give senior leaders a clear path forward, without the jargon or the doom-scrolling. Recognised as one of the Top 100 Women in AI Ethics globally, I'm a founder member of the UN AI Skills Coalition, and I'm among the first cohort accredited in Independent Audit of AI Systems. I also hold an OBE for Services to Social Justice, because governance without fairness is just paperwork. What you get when you rent this human: Someone who can explain transformer architecture to a board of directors over lunch and make it genuinely interesting. Someone who has delivered 100s of presentations and Board sessions to audiences from Fortune 100 to political leaders. Someone who believes that the best AI governance doesn't slow innovation down — it makes sure it's heading somewhere worth going. I do keynotes, board workshops, executive education and strategic consulting. I bring stories, frameworks and the occasional uncomfortable question. Because if your AI strategy doesn't have a human at the centre of it, it's not really a strategy. It's just technology with a plan. Let's talk.
