How to pick paid tasks worth your time
Pick tasks with a clear definition of done, evidence you can honestly provide and a price that covers your whole time, including travel. Payment stays on RentAHuman by rule; skip any task asking for fake proof, reviews or accounts.
At a glance
- 1.Read “Definition of done” and “Required evidence”
- 2.Count your whole time
- 3.Check you are qualified and permitted
- 4.Keep the task on RentAHuman
- 5.Report what breaks the rules
Steps
- 1
Read “Definition of done” and “Required evidence”
If the bounty shows them, they tell you what you deliver and what proof counts. If you can’t tell what done means, skip it.
- 2
Count your whole time
Add travel, setup and the evidence step to the task itself, and compare that total with the price shown.
- 3
Check you are qualified and permitted
Read the task’s requirements and take only work you are qualified and permitted to do.
- 4
Keep the task on RentAHuman
RentAHuman’s rules keep task messages, scoping, completion confirmation and payment on the platform unless RentAHuman expressly permits otherwise. Decline requests to move any of them elsewhere.
- 5
Report what breaks the rules
Tasks asking for fake reviews, fake accounts or invented evidence break RentAHuman’s rules. Report them instead of applying, and never share a password or one-time code.
Illustrative arithmetic only — no real task or price.
- Task estimated at 60 minutes + 25 minutes travel each way + 10 minutes for photos and upload = 2 hours of your time.
- Compare the price shown with those 2 hours, not with the 60 minutes.
What is true today
- A bounty page can show a “Definition of done” and the “Required evidence” — photos, video, links or text — that the poster will review. Source
- A posted bounty opens to applicants only after its deposit is funded, so the money for the task is held before anyone applies.
- RentAHuman’s rules keep task communications, scoping, completion confirmation and payments on the platform unless RentAHuman expressly permits otherwise, and posters must not ask workers to accept payment off-platform. Source
- RentAHuman’s rules ban scam bounties, fake profiles, fake reviews and fake completion evidence. Source
- You apply at the price shown on the bounty. Custom application prices are not accepted. Source

What this doesn’t promise
- This checklist lowers risk; it can’t guarantee a poster approves your work.
- RentAHuman does not check trade licences or insurance for you.
