We're collecting a small sample batch of accented English audio for a data collection project. We need ONE participant who speaks English with a Chinese accent (en-CN) to record 15 minutes of natural speech.
Requirements:
• You must currently reside in, and record from, an approved US state: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, or Wyoming. NOT eligible if based in: California, Colorado, Illinois, Maryland, Texas, Washington.
• Record all 15 minutes in a single session, in one quiet indoor location, on one device (phone, laptop, or tablet).
• No background noise, no editing, no pre/post-processing of the audio.
• Speak naturally — free conversation, reading aloud, or answering prompts we provide, totaling 15 minutes of active speech.
• Save the recording as a standard audio file (e.g. .wav or .m4a) and upload it to a Google Drive folder you own, with link sharing turned on.
This is a small pilot sample ahead of a larger project — fast turnaround is appreciated.
