We're building a large-scale conversational audio dataset in Oromo for a global AI client. We're recruiting language coordinators to source and manage native Oromo speakers who will contribute paid recordings.
How it works:
• You source a minimum of 10 native Oromo speakers.
• Each speaker submits a 2-minute test recording in Oromo. We evaluate the test to confirm voice quality, that it isn't AI-generated, and that background noise is acceptable.
• Speakers who pass the test phase are added to a group chat; you share the group link with us so we can coordinate.
• You monitor participation and ensure each speaker completes the required audio recording hours.
What you'll do as coordinator:
• Identify and onboard native Oromo speakers (aged 18 or older).
• Brief each speaker on quality standards and rejection criteria.
• Have each speaker sign the Speaker Consent Form (provided by us) before their first full submission.
• Collect their 2-minute test recordings and forward to us for evaluation.
• Add qualified speakers to a group chat and share the link with us.
• Monitor ongoing participation and support your speakers through their recording hours.
Payment structure:
• You earn $5 for each contributor who successfully completes the required audio recording hours.
• Speakers are paid $10 per accepted audio hour directly by us — you keep 100% of the coordinator fee, and no coordinator earnings come from speaker pay.
• If a speaker does not pass the test phase, no payment applies.
Requirements for speakers you refer:
• Native or near-native speaker of Oromo, aged 18 or older.
• Access to a smartphone or computer with a decent microphone.
• Signed Speaker Consent Form.
• Willing to record 2 minutes to 1 hour per session, up to a maximum of 20 hours total.
• Willing to record with other speakers around 70% of the time (conversational / group recordings).
Volume target: Minimum 10 completed speakers per coordinator.
Timeline: Rolling submissions from now through Sep 14, 2026. Tranche 1 due August 4th.
What to submit for each speaker:
• Signed Speaker Consent Form.
• 2-minute test recording.
• Speaker metadata: Speaker ID, name, age, gender, country, contact.
• Group chat link once qualified speakers are added.
• Confirmation that the speaker has completed the required audio hours (we cross-check against our records before paying).
