$15 for ~10 minutes of active work, plus a 20-minute passive window where you just need your phone nearby (silent/vibrate is fine β no answering or monitoring).
We need T-Mobile Android users with the official Google Phone app as their default dialer, to help us check how a set of our business phone numbers is currently being labeled by Google's spam system.
This one is T-Mobile only. If you're on Verizon, AT&T, or a prepaid brand (Mint, Metro, Boost, Visible, etc.), please skip this one β we'd rather say so up front than leave you waiting on a slot that isn't coming.
How it works:
- Confirm a 20β30 minute window with us in your local time.
- Before we start: check the three phone settings listed below. This is required β two of them will otherwise stop the test calls from reaching your Recents list, which leaves us nothing to read.
- Passive phase (~20 min): your phone receives ~50 short test calls from 1-866 numbers. Leave it on silent or vibrate β go about your day, no need to answer or monitor anything.
- Active phase (~10 min): once the calls end, open your Phone app Recents:
- Take BEFORE scrolling screenshots covering all 50 test calls.
- For each call labeled "Spam" (red icon with "!"), tap it and select "Not Spam."
- Take AFTER scrolling screenshots showing the Spam labels cleared.
- Send all screenshots via DM.
The three settings. Open the Phone app and tap your profile photo (top right) β Settings. "Caller ID & spam" and "Call Screen" are two separate menu entries β you'll need to visit both.
- Caller ID & spam β "See caller and spam ID" = ON. This is what labels the calls. Without it there is nothing for us to measure.
- Caller ID & spam β "Filter spam calls" = OFF. When this is on, suspected spam calls are silenced and diverted, so they won't appear normally in your Recents.
- Call Screen β "Automatic call screening" = OFF. When this is on, Google answers the call on your behalf and it never reaches your Recents at all.
Put all three back however you like the moment the test is done. If your phone doesn't offer one of these, that's fine β just tell us.
Eligibility:
- US-based
- T-Mobile postpaid (not Metro, not Mint, not a T-Mobile MVNO)
- Android (not iPhone)
- Google Phone app set as your default dialer β not Samsung Phone, not Hiya, not any other app. If you have a Samsung, you'll need to install Google Phone from the Play Store and set it as default first.
- No other call-screening or spam-blocking app active (Hiya, Truecaller, TextNow, etc.)
- Willing to set the three settings above for the duration of the test
We verify your setup via the two screenshots below at application time, so you only reach the test stage if your phone is configured correctly. Calls are scheduled between 9am and 6pm in your local time.
